Obama returns more than $50,000 in lobbyists’ contributions | Chicago Tribune
WASHINGTON — Democratic Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has returned more than $50,000 in political contributions after discovering the donors were lobbyists.

Obama, who has pledged to change the ways of Washington, has repeatedly said he will not accept money from lobbyists or from special interest political action committees.

Beautiful. Keep it up.

That's what I like about him, Ginny. He's a straight talker. And when he make a pledge to do something, he follows through.

Just a few pulled from ontheissues.org.

Supports banning the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons. Violation of 2nd amendment rights.

Supports using race and sex as a factor in hiring and college admissions. Violation of equality under the law principles by playing favorites.

Free public college for anyone with a B average (not a power granted to the federal government; usurps upon the jurisdiction of the states).

Beleives in using legislation to mandate socialized medicine. Not in Congress' power to do. Also believes in using the power of government to purchase prescription drugs; again, not a power granted to Congress.

Believes in a federally mandated minimum wage (not a power of Congress).

Voted for income redistribution to provide "tax relief" to the poor. Not in the power of the federal government to redistribute wealth.
