New Class of Superconductor

Researchers at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University have discovered unusual properties in a novel superconducting material that point to an entirely new kind of superconductor.

A type 2 superconductor with the highest current-carrying ability of any yet discovered! I mean, over 45 Tesla? That's the best of which I've ever heard.

How do you even find out how many Teslas it'll take when your meters don't go that high?
