I really don't see what the offense was about - I read the pope's speech, and he never called Islam any names. He did quote a famous guy who did in the 13th century, but he himself called the comment shocking. (or vicious or something like that, not remembering exactly)

Did the pope say anything worth getting excited at all over?

Looks like the catholics might have the moral high ground this time for once... just kidding, just kidding...
