Here's a quote from Barack Obama's speech to the 2004 Democratic National Convention:

"... I say to them tonight, there’s not a liberal America and a conservative America — there’s the United States of America.
There’s not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there’s the United States of America.
The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats.

We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don’t like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States.
We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States.

Now if we could get any politician of any kind to back stuff like that up with actions. Great speech, but does he believe it, and will he do the things that need to be done to make us all believe it?

Indeed indeed.
As to belief - I really have a good feeling about this guy. I just finished his book "The Audacity of Hope" and I've been reading his stuff online and watching him on talk shows and such. I think he's the real deal. I believe that his short time in DC is very much for the best in this case.

I have liked this man from the very start. He's a straight shooter.
I need to get my hands on his "Audacity" book - it sounds like a wonderful read.
I am hopeful that we will hear - Obama in '08
