The CW has found its Supergirl.

Laura Vandervoort has been cast as Clark Kent’s cousin Kara, aka Supergirl, on the CW’s “Smallville.” She’ll begin lensing next week opposite series star Tom Welling.

The Canadian actress’s best known credits include the N’s “Instant Star” and episodes of “C.S.I” and “Doc.” Earlier this year, she appeared in the Miramax feature “The Lookout.”

Interesting. I hope she can act too. She seems a little short to be his cousin. But the black belt will probably come in handy.

I guess they're going to be basing her more on the current comic title - which has her as a relatively short teenage girl.

Ah....okay. I haven't read that one. Right now I'm reading Superman: Birthright. It caught my eye because it had an introduction by Smallville people.

I need new Superman type icons.
