I use LJ as an RSS aggregation service and a blog platform.

Meanwhile all my FB friends complain bitterly that FB isn't more like LJ. Which drives me nuts.

I always liked LJ. I no longer really post anything personal. At least not much in the way of personal thoughts. FB has become my place to post the cool and interesting as well as short tidbits on what's going on - when it's going on. I wish there were still a large community here. I was happy to see your aggregate post of goings on. We have quite similar interests.
