well being a canuck, and being a bit removed from all of this. I have to say that I think this is a pretty good example of democracy in action. as far as I can see (well from the coverage I get on CNN) not too many people were very impressed with either her qualifications or her stand on any issues that people were concerned with. Thus no one really stood by her, and therefore she was not put into place. From my point of view, this is a good thing, she was not the right person for the job and thus she eventually did not get the job. Is there nothing better to illustrate democracy than someone who comes under scrutiny and eventually withdraws from a race? Will the next person be better? who knows? obviously I do not. however I do think that the greater scrutiny that the next person will go through can only be a good thing. It can only mean more thought will go into the next person, and all I can say is that, this can only be a good thing. to quote my favorite radio personality...
