Talk about taking retro gaming to the next level. Target Stores will offer BigGames Home Video Arcade machines that will retail for less than $500 nationwide in November of 2005. Each unit plays 12 of the original arcade versions of the most popular Midway® games including: Defender®, Defender® II, Robotron®, Joust®, Bubbles®, Splat™, Sinistar®, Rampage®, Rootbeer Tapper™, Wizard of Wor™, Timber™, and Satan's Hollow™. The unit stands 62” tall and has an included, built-in, full color monitor. It comes with additional A/V inputs that allow (almost) any existing home video game system, DVD player, VCR or any other A/V product to be plugged in and viewed on the built-in monitor. I only have one question, where is the Galaga?

My inner teen demands one. Unfortunately he's being grounded because he didn't get his hair cut and I had to confiscate his cigarettes.

Galaga was originally a Namco game. Midway was only the American distributor.

I have mame32 on my computer and have downloaded most of my favorite games onto it.
What I really need is just the big case with the joystick that I can pound away on.
It would not be too hard to put one of my old computers in there and voila!
It is very tempting....hmmm

sorry I have no live journal blog going, I go by the name of zaphod.
and pride myself on being just this guy in cyberspace. Through the
miracle of happenstance I stumbled upon ginnys live journal and have been
making appearances ever since. I like to think that she enjoys my occasional
additions to her blog, or at the very least tolerates my intrusions to her
life. I am just a science Geek (notice that Geek is spelled with a capital "g"
which means that not only am I proud of me geek status, but able relate to
other people on both a "geek" and non geek level. In common conversation you
might even not realize that I am a "Geek". Does this answer your questions?
If not I am available for conversation on pretty much every chat or sms system
on the net. Let me know, I love to meet new people converse on a wide variety
of subjects.
